LSD biologists are well versed in the regulatory requirements of the Endangered Species Act (ESA), the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Bald Eagle Protection Act, and other federal and state wildlife rules and regulations concerning the survey, monitoring, and handling of wildlife species. We routinely conduct literature searches, project impact assessments, presence/absence surveys, and biological assessments and evaluations. Our biologists have prepared mitigation measures and conservation strategies to negate or minimize project-related impacts. We have worked with most southwestern land management and environmental regulatory agencies, coordinating evaluations of proposed projects, monitoring implementation of environmental compliance requirements, and facilitating ESA Section 7 consultation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
