LSD’s Environmental Planning Team has completed more than 1,850 NEPA-related environmental studies for projects throughout the Southwest. With an interdisciplinary staff of environmental planning, cultural resources, biology, permitting, public involvement, visual resources, and GIS/graphics specialists, LSD has the in-house capabilities to successfully undertake even the most complex and controversial projects. We are adept at successfully scoping critical issues and at-risk resources, clearly defining a project’s purpose and need, identifying and evaluating a feasible range of alternatives, disclosing potential impacts, providing adequate and reasonable mitigation measures, and ensuring public participation in the decision-making process, capabilities that are all critical to completing NEPA documents in a timely manner.
LSD’s ability to communicate, coordinate, and facilitate work expeditiously is one of our trademarks. Since all tasks are completed in house, we can often expedite the planning process throughout the course of a project.
Clients include state departments of transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, National Park Service, the Bureau of Reclamation, Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Bureau of Land Management, and the USDA Forest Service.
