LSD has been on numerous interdisciplinary teams responsible for developing and evaluating corridors for a variety of state and county transportation projects. We have provided public involvement plans and environmental overviews for corridor profile studies, access management studies, and feasibility studies. As part of these projects, we gather information on existing and planned conditions; evaluate the setting and character of project areas; identify the values of affected communities, highway users’ needs, and safety and operational requirements of roadway designs; define evaluation criteria relating to the social, natural, and physical environment; and assist in the development and evaluation of alternatives so that well-founded recommendations can be made.
In addition to developing and implementing public involvement programs for these projects, LSD is frequently responsible for coordination between local, state, and federal agencies.
