LSD’s experience in assessing scenic resources includes aesthetic impact analyses, preference testing, visual simulations, visual resource assessments, and viewshed analyses conducted by our in-house visual resource and GIS specialists. Our experience with the Forest Service’s Scenery Management System and the Bureau of Land Management’s Visual Resource Management System for analyzing scenic impacts for complex transportation-based projects has enabled us to work on controversial projects in some of the most visually sensitive areas of the Southwest.
To support visual resources projects, LSD’s in-house public outreach specialists and graphic designers prepare bilingual public scoping materials (e.g., letters/fliers, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations), create Web sites, facilitate public meetings, and organize public hearings to ensure all interested parties have been heard. |
